From healthy babies and moms to healthy businesses and teams; we love seeing things grow. And St. Charles Health System has grown into an amazing partner for March of Dimes in our mutual quest to improve the health of babies.
St. Charles Health System has participated in March for Babies for 7 years now. In 2009 they raised $3,000, with 29 registered walkers. Under the leadership of the fabulous Sara Mosher (RN, BSN, MHA, NICU Clinical Practice Coordinator & NICU Family Support Specialist for St. Charles Health System) in 2010, the team had a 75% year over year increase, raising a total of $11,925 with 78 registered walkers. In wrapping up the 2011 March for Babies, St. Charles Health System has raised $12,760 with 136 registered walkers! Wow.
But wait, there’s more! Two of these walkers are in our Top Walkers Club raising over $1,000 each to help give every baby a healthy start. This growth and participation is outstanding!
What does Sara have to say about it?
It is such an honor to work for an organization that recognizes the importance of helping give every baby a healthy start to life. As an NICU nurse, I see the everyday challenges premature and ill infants face just to survive. I also see the physical, emotional and financial toll a NICU stay has on families. I have a job where I see the March of Dimes mission in action every single day. The March for Babies event is such a great partnership between our health system and March of Dimes, and it is an event I am honored to participate in. One of the best parts of the walk is that staff and graduate families alike come out and walk. It is great for staff to be able to see families and children again. Being together makes us remember why we do what we do! We are thankful for the March of Dimes mission and the support they offer.
St. Charles and March of Dimes: working together for stronger, healthier babies!
