The Deets Family

Amber Deets, mission mom and champion for babies, is the Linn-Benton March for Babies Committee Chair this year.  Which means she’s coordinating volunteer opportunities, reaching out to local teams, working on walk logistics, and a 13 handfuls of the miscellaneous details that need handling to put on a March for Babies.

Amber is working hard for the millions of moms and babies out there that she hopes will never have to go through what she and her family did. Her March for Babies page reads:

I am involved in March for Babies to raise money to support the research for prematurity and so that one day no mommy will leave the hospital empty handed. My sons were born on December 28, 2007: Jackson was stillborn and his mighty brother, Bronson weighed just 2 pounds 3.4 ounces. Bronson spent the next 60 days in the NICU of Sacred Heart and left us with a feeling that will forever define our life. Our son is a miracle and we hope that you will join our fight in raising money for March of Dimes.

Since 2008 Amber’s team has raised over $8,000 to improve the health of babies.  As of Monday, they are the 2nd highest family team in funds raised throughout Oregon and SW Washington. And they’re just getting started.

Thank you, Amber and family, for everything you’re doing for babies.

You can join Amber’s team, Deets Angels in Heaven and on Earth, here.

Or donate on Amber’s page here.

Heather Singer & Family

Heather Singer
Involved with March of Dimes for 1 year

I walk because of my twins Emily & Ellery who were born at just 26 weeks/4 days gestation.  They weighed 1 lbs 13oz and 2lbs 1 oz and are true miracles.  We are reminded of that daily as we chase after our healthy and vibrant 20 month olds.

My wish is that one day we can find a cure/cause for prematurity.  Being told that there isn’t really a reason except that prematurity is common with twins….is… not….enough!

Involved with March of Dimes for 2 years

We  walk because the research and medical discoveries funded by March of Dimes are a direct reason that our two twin boys (born 26W 3D, 1lb 11oz, 1lb 14oz) are alive today.  Each child born premature should have the same fighting chance that Aiden and Brandon had.

Our  wish for all babies is that when unfortunate circumstances result in premature birth or troubled pregnancies, we have sufficient medicine, technology and the best doctors to give our babies the best chance at survival and a healthy and full life.

Joel and Jennifer are champions for babies!

I walk because every baby deserves a chance at life and I’ve had the opportunity to see the benefits of the March of Dimes’ efforts first hand.

My wish is that one day premature birth will be a thing of the past and all babies will come into this world healthy, and that parents will never have to go through the pain of watching their precious baby struggle and fight to survive.

Trish is a champion for babies!
