my daughter was born almost 3 months early due to severe preeclampsia. she was 1lb 6oz and 12 3/4″ long. what a rollercoaster ride it has been since before her birth. she’s been home a little over a week now, after spending the first twelve weeks of her life in the NICU. such a blessing, though! she’s doing awesome, weighing in at around 5lbs on her due date of 2/25/10.
it’s great to read about how some very well known, famous people started out their lives in a similar way. a testimony to the determination preemies have! thanks for this blog and to march of dimes and the support you provide for premature babies everywhere. <3
Thanks, Amy! We’re so glad to hear your daughter is thriving.
Will there be a softball tournment this summer? Any details yet? Our daughter was born at 27 weeks, in the NICU for almost 3 months and will be turning 2 in June! Shes’s doing amazing!
I’m not sure about the tournament. We’ll post something here when we know.
So glad to hear how well your daughter is doing!
