Tomorrow–November 17th–is Prematurity Awareness Day. All across the nation people are doing something to raise awareness about the struggles faced by over half a million babies born too soon every year.
Here are a few things you can do to help:
- Join March of Dimes and ODS at Lloyd Center Mall in Portland from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm tomorrow upstairs in the Food Court. Come by and show your support for March of Dimes, get valuable information about reducing your risk of preterm birth before becoming pregnant with 9 things to do prior to pregnancy and pick up a purple wrist band you can wear in honor of the half million babies born too soon.
- Tune in to a Discovery Health series NICU marathon on from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm e/p, sponsored by Farmers Insurance. NICU shows the experiences of babies fighting for their lives in a newborn intensive care unit. To find Discovery Health in your local area, check your local listings.
- Dine out and Give Back! Tomorrow, starting at 5:30 pm, bring your family or friends for a night out at Lincoln Restaurant located at 3808 N. Williams No. 127, Portland, OR 97227. Reservations are not required but are recommended and can be made by calling 503-288-6200. http://lincolnpdx.com/ A portion of the night’s sales will be donated to March of Dimes!
- Wear purple and tell everyone why.
One day, every family will know the joy of a healthy baby. Until then, there is March of Dimes.
Thanks for your support!
